KNIGHTS OF PETER CLAVER SUPREME KNIGHT ELECTED DEPUTY PRESIDENT OF THE INTERNATIONAL ALLIANCE OF CATHOLIC KNIGHTS

NEW ORLEANS – The Honorable F. DeKarlos Blackmon, Obl.S.B., Supreme Knight and Chief Executive Officer of the Knights of Peter Claver, has been elected as Deputy President of the International Alliance of Catholic Knights (IACK).  As Deputy President, Blackmon will work to deepen the faith of members of the Alliance and all Catholics encouraging active and generous participation in the life and mission of the Church, a central objective of the Alliance.  The two-term leader of the nation’s only historically black Catholic fraternal organization follows in the footsteps Past Supreme Knight Paul C. Condoll who previously served as President of the Alliance in the nineties.  The Knights of Peter Claver and the Knights of Columbus represent the United States in the alliance.

Most Reverend Martin D. Holley, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Washington and National Chaplain of the Knights of Peter Claver stated “I am elated to learn of this excellent representation of the Knights of Peter Claver internationally. I congratulate Supreme Knight Blackmon and offer God’s continued blessings for his leadership among the Catholic laity domestically and abroad. ” Most Reverend Shelton J. Fabre, V.G., Auxiliary Bishop of New Orleans and Chair of the USCCB Subcommittee on African-American Affairs, said “I congratulate Supreme Knight Blackmon on his election as Deputy President of the IACK.  Just as his many gifts have aided the efforts of the Knights of Peter Claver, I am certain that Supreme Knight Blackmon’s gifts will now serve the leadership of IACK in a wonderful way as well.”  In an interview on last evening, Immediate Past Supreme Knight of the Knights of Peter Claver and IACK member, Gene A. Phillips, Sr., offered congratulatory remarks stating “We offer sincere congratulations to Supreme Knight Blackmon on his election as Deputy President of the International Alliance of Catholic Knights and are extremely proud to again have the United States represented in the leadership of this vital organization.”

HURRICANE ISAAC UPDATE
Friday, 07 September 2012 18:10

The KPC National Headquarters is open for business and normal operations have resumed.  While the storm has passed and the KPC facilities were spared, there have been reports of Claver members in south Louisiana and Mississippi who were impacted by the storm.  Some members experienced flooding in their homes and have not yet had power restored.

Grand Knights, Grand Ladies, and Faithful Navigators in the affected areas are asked to check on your members to determine who was impacted and if assistance is needed.  You are asked to notify the National Office staff of any sustained impact on members affected by the storm.  Let us continue to pray for everyone who was affected by the storm’s wrath.

Fraternally,
KPC Web Team
